You never expected this to happen. You weren’t trying to have a baby, and now here you are, staring at a positive pregnancy test. Maybe you are happy – excited even. But you might also be feeling nervous, scared, uncertain, unprepared. Maybe you even feel trapped.
An unplanned pregnancy seems scary, but thankfully, it doesn’t have to be. There are so many resources available that can help you along your pregnancy and parenting journeys.
At Birth Choice of Dallas, we can talk with you about all of your options – from parenting to abortion to adoption. We can help you make an informed choice with confidence through our free counseling services.
We can also help to prepare you practically for having a baby through our Earn While You Learn Program. Through this program, Birth Choice offers six weekly classes that cover a variety of topics. For each class you attend, you earn Baby Bucks, which can be used in our Baby Boutique to buy things like diapers, bottles, clothes, and toys for your new baby. These classes help you to feel equipped to take on this new role of “mother.” What once may have been a source of stress and worry can become a source of confidence and empowerment.
What is so much more important than the classes and material assistance themselves, though, is the community that you will build with other women in similar situations. Though you may feel alone in your unplanned pregnancy, there are women who have been in your shoes before and understand what you are feeling right now. And they want to support you along the way, giving you the encouragement and love you need to get through this difficult time. These women are strong and courageous women who become wonderful mothers, and you can be, too.
At Birth Choice, we will walk with you every step of the way. Your pregnancy may have been unplanned, but that doesn’t mean you have to be unprepared.
